Happy December!

Hard to believe that we are nearing the end of another year. However, I don’t know about you, but it seems like a lot happened this year!

December means different things to different people. For some, it is a time for festive parties, and perhaps the exchanging of gifts. For others, a religious or spiritual element is the main focus. This time of year often includes gatherings with friends and loved ones, regardless of the beliefs of the season.

Food seems to often be the centerpiece of group happenings this time of year, whether for work, or personal. Not only do our bodies enjoy eating, especially meals and snacks that taste really good, but sharing meals creates a community feel. Even those of us that enjoy our independence and alone time, connecting to other humans can provide a sense of comfort. It satisfies any need that is felt to “belong.” At it’s best, when spending time with others, we experience a level of acceptance. Although ultimately, we must reach an authentic acceptance of ourselves to truly gain our personal security and confidence in that area. Nonetheless, spending time with others can be fun, and fulfilling. Finding others that resonate with us, whether “our tribe,” or even casual acquaintances that we find pleasant, can add to our life. During times of celebration, and everyday living.

So many aspects of weddings and receptions are already checked off the list this time of year. If you celebrate actual holidays, or simply use this opportunity to spend time with those you care about, your guest list will already be made. The aforementioned food will already be prepared too. This time of year has a seemingly higher energy that aids in the enjoyment of our group celebrations. Add a wedding to that equation and you have an instant fun, and exciting memory in the making!
